Job Description:

Full time positon. Hours are early morning, likely 5:00a-1:30p. Every other weekend required. Previous baking/pastry/cooking experience required. JOB SUMMARY: The baker performs duties related to food service. The major duties are: following standardized recipes for the production of foods according to patient, cafeteria, mobile meals and catering needs and providing cooperative and courteous service to patients, visitors and co-workers. The Baker may need to perform other duties as assigned by the supervisor or director.

Job Requirements:

QUALIFICATIONS: 1. Previous baking/pastry/cooking experience required 2. Able to communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing 3. Must be able to read and write and follow oral and written directions 4. Must be able to count money and make change 5. Able to work under stressful conditions PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS: 1. Able to work in a latex burdened environment. 2. Able to lift cases of groceries, flour, sugar and containers of food that could weigh up to 50 pounds. 3. Standing for long periods of time with extensive bending and reaching. 4. Demonstrates adequate vision to read, prepare labels and to give appropriate portion control. JOB RELATIONSHIPS: 1. Responsible to the Nutrition Services Supervisor, Certified Dietary Manager, Hospitality Manager and Director.
