TRANSPORTATION DRIVER

Description:

Position Summary

Transports casino and resort guests and employees using company vehicles.  Performs routine safety check of the vehicle at the beginning of each shift.  Ensures that the vehicle is clean at all times, both inside and outside.  Operate vehicles safely and in compliance with all motor vehicle laws and speed limits.  Operates company vehicles ranging from regular vehicle vans to commercial 15 passenger shuttle buses over specified route or routes on a time schedule pickup, transport passengers, and drop off at destination; demonstrate appropriate public relation skills in public interactions.

Supervision Exercised

Reports to a Transportation Supervisor.

Major Duties and Responsibilities

  1. Establishes good guest relation skills.
  2. Greets and assists guest/s.
  3. Travels to requested pick up locations to transport guests to and to and from the casino, resort, airport and other approved destinations.
  4. Completes a pre-inspection and filling/checking all information on inspection sheet on vehicle prior to departure.
  5. Communicates appropriately and acknowledges all information given by the dispatcher.
  6. Acknowledges and follows the set department standard operational procedures.
  7. Complies with all traffic regulations.
  8. Assists passengers and their baggage/s.
  9. Reports delays of events, traffic citations, incidents and accidents.
  10. Advises passengers to the safety issues and advice to be seated and sit in an orderly manner while on vehicle/s.
  11. Regulates heating, lighting and ventilating systems for passenger’s comfort.
  12. Assists in the loading and unloading of baggage in baggage compartment/s.
  13. Makes minor repairs or replacements to vehicle and changes tires if needed.
  14. Maintains cleanliness of vehicle/s at all times.
  15. Performs additional duties and responsibilities as necessary or assigned.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

  1. Knowledge of vehicle/s and vehicle usage of air brakes.
  2. Knowledge of city of Albuquerque streets, roads, airports and surrounding areas.
  3. Excellent guest service skills.
  4. Knowledge of hazards and standard safety practices related to the operation of assigned vehicles.
  5. Knowledge of the operations, services, activities, promotions of the resort, casino and transportation programs.
  6. Ability to drive in adverse weather conditions.
  7. Ability to maintain and update proper certifications.
  8. Ability to respond to requests and inquiries from the general public.
  9. Ability to lift luggage/object/s weighing up to fifty (50) pounds.

Requirements:

Minimum Qualifications, Education and Experience

Required:

  1. High School Diploma, GED certification or equivalent.
  2. One (1) year of experience in guest services and /or dealing with the general public
  3. Must be at least 25 years of age.
  4. Must possess and maintain a valid, unrestricted New Mexico Driver’s License.

Preferred:

  1. Class B CDL with Passenger endorsement.

Licensing Status

  1. Must be able to successfully pass a stringent background investigation.
  2. Will require a post-offer, pre-employment and random drug screening.
