CAGE SUPERVISOR

Description:

Position Summary

Supervises and leads the work of assigned personnel in the Cage/Vault operations under limited supervision. Performs the drop and reimpressment of the Ticket Redemption Kiosk and Cash Dispensers. Resolves any Cage Cashier or Kiosk related customer service disputes. Verifies all customer transactions at $5,000 and above. Creates all Slot Manual transactions and approves W2-g payouts.

Supervision Exercised

Reports to the Cage/Vault Manager and Cage/Vault Lead Supervisor. 

 

Supervises Cage Cashiers and Bankers as assigned.

Major Duties and Responsibilities

  1. Ensures each Cage/Vault Employee provides fast, friendly, timely and courteous service to all customers.
  2. Schedules and directs the work of the Cage/Vault staff.
  3. Ensures strict adherence to policies, procedures and Internal Controls.
  4. Ensures a high quality of external and internal customer service. 
  5. Ensures that assigned staff complies with Title 31 and W2-G procedures.
  6. Monitors vault activities and functions of Cage/Vault Cage Cashiers and Cage and Vault Bankers as necessary.
  7. Performs the drops and fills and maintains the Ticket Redemption Kiosks.
  8. Performs the drops and fills on the Cash Dispensers.
  9. Resolves any customer related Kiosk issues.
  10. Creates all manual Slot transactions and Dispute pays with dual authorization with the Slot Department.
  11. Approves W2-G payouts of Slot Jackpots.
  12. Approves the reprints of VIP Check Casing cards.
  13. Declines Slot tickets when necessary.
  14. Ensures proper customer transactions, including cash/chip exchange and payouts of $5,000 and above.
  15. Trains all new Cage/Vault Employees in all Cage Internal Controls, policies and procedures.
  16. Investigates and resolves Cage Cashier and Banker variances.
  17. Maintains an adequate inventory of operating supplies and orders as necessary.
  18. Communicates effectively with casino staff.
  19. Ensures proper opening and closing of Cages and Vault as necessary.
  20. Maintains logs for key control box.
  21. Responsible for disciplinary action and retraining of Cage/Vault Cage Cashiers concerning exception reports and notices of Non-Compliance.
  22. Performs additional duties and responsibilities as necessary or assigned.

  2. Ability to use cage equipment: 10 Key calculator, money sorters and counters.
  3. Ability to receive and verify large amounts of money/chips.
  4. Ability to complete moderately complex arithmetic calculations.
  5. Ability to pass cashier’s test.
  6. Ability to work odd and unusual hours, including weekends and overtime.
  7. Ability to work under high pressure and stress conditions.
  8. Ability to exhibit a strong motivational commitment to the organization.
  9. Ability to speak accurately and clearly in public.
  10. Ability to maintain accurate records.
  11. Ability to operate a personal computer.
  12. Knowledge of basic accounting methods, policies and procedures.
  13. Ability to perform the physical requirements of the position.
  14. Must be able to read, write and speak English fluently

Requirements:

Minimum Qualifications, Education and Experience

Required:

  1. High School Diploma, GED certification or equivalent.
  2. Two (2) years casino cage experience.
  3. Must be at least 21 years of age.

 

Preferred:

  1. Supervisory experience or Transition to Management class.

Licensing Status

  1. Must be able to obtain and maintain the required Gaming License.
  2. Will require a post-offer, pre-employment and random drug screening.

Working Conditions

  1. Work is performed indoors.
  2. Work is performed while standing at their station during their assigned shift.
  3. Work hours subject to change with overtime work required.
  4. Must be able to work long hours under stressful conditions.
  5. Subject to hazards that may cause personal bodily harm: smoke, common colds, influenza, dust, odors and elevated noise levels.
  6. Tasks may be performed on uneven, inclined, hard and soft carpeted floors, cement structures and surfaces.
  7. Duties may involve walking, standing for long periods of time, sitting and crouching.
  8. Must be able to lift trays and bags weighing up to 50 pounds.
  9. Specific required movements include the following:
  • Trunk-bend, twist, rotate, push, pull, and carry
  • Arms-reach, carry, push, pull, lift, twist, and rotate
  • Legs-lift, push, pull, twist, and rotate
  • Hands-grasp, manipulates, bilateral coordination, eye and hand coordination, overall and finger dexterity.
