Sr. Content Strategist & Writer

Job Description

 With a high degree of creativity, accuracy and technical ability; the Senior Writer develops material that effectively communicates information to internal and external audiences. The Senior Writer will manage communication projects from inception to delivery.
Position Responsibilities: 

  • Participates in the development and implementation of publications for internal and external audiences. Edits all external and internal newsletters.
  • Proposes, researches, and writes copy for a variety of platforms including internal and external communications, news releases, feature articles, speeches, newsletters, presentations, and Internet content in addition to other materials.
  • Always collects accurate background information to fully develop stories.
  • Writes and edits with a high degree of creativity, accuracy, and technical ability.
  • Proofreads all written material to ensure accuracy and completeness of final product.
  • Assists in special projects and performs other duties as assigned or directed.

Job Requirements

 Position Minimum Qualifications: 

  • Bachelor’s Degree in English, Communications, Journalism, or Public Relations is required.
  • Minimum five years of writing/editing experience in media, not-for-profit, or corporate communications environment required.
  • Strong writing skills are required; must be creative, innovative, original, and provide well-researched work with clean, clear, and grammatically correct copy.
  • Must possess an understanding of news media content and requirements of electronic communications; including radio, television and the Internet.
  • Must have demonstrated high-order interpersonal and oral/written communication skills.  Possesses the ability to establish and maintain productive relationships with internal and external clients.
  • Must have excellent editing/proofreading skills including knowledge of AP Style.
  • Strong project management skills are required.
  • Solid working knowledge of Microsoft Office applications, especially the built-in styles and formatting functionalities is required.
