Health and Life Insurance Broker


Opportunity Description:

LiveOps is looking for people who have demonstrated success working as a broker for health and life insurance.

The Broker is responsible for advising clients on their insurance renewals. The renewal process includes initial contact, client discovery, marketing or plan shopping through the Quoting Tool, advising the client on plan selection, ensuring plans are loaded into the software appropriately, and helping the client move through the Open Enrollment (OE) process. After OE, visibility will need to be maintained into the processing of the renewal by responding to requests for information from other internal partners. The renewal conversation will be used as an opportunity to ensure the client has the most complete benefits package for their organization; this includes upselling features and new lines of coverage. This role will require interactions with carriers and internal partners to provide an excellent renewal experience.

Key Responsibilities

  • On a typical day you will be responsible for providing remote support by taking inbound calls and making outbound calls to the clients you support.
  • On the calls you will be helping the client navigate the different packages and carriers available to them.
  • Throughout the program you will be responsible for building relationships with your assigned clients through regular phone contact and personalized follow up.
  • You will also be responsible for accessing information and updating records on multiple online platforms.
  • Data entry skills, attention to detail, and accuracy are critical.

Earning Potential

Independent contractors earn money for time spent talking on the phone. The talk-time rate is $0.45 cents per minute of talk time for this program.

Available Hours

Calls are typically made Monday through Friday between 8AM and 11PM ET. Peak call volume is generated from 10AM to 6PM ET. These hours are subject to change based on the client's needs.

To help you build expertise with this call type, this client requires independent contractors to self-schedule a minimum of forty 30-minute blocks per week or one hundred and twenty 30-minute blocks per month. This is the equivalent of 20 hours per week or 80 hours per month.

Skills needed for success

  • Active Health and Life Insurance Broker’s license
  • Minimum of one year experience acting as a broker
  • Demonstrated ability to easily make a connection with others, and successfully build relationships through empathy and compassion
  • Previous phone support or call center experience is preferred
  • Desire to be your own boss and to work at home
  • Excellent listening and communication skills
  •  Ability to multi-task within multiple systems and windows, including but not limited to Microsoft Office programs, CRMs and proprietary software
  • Ability to learn and use customized software and applications

Application and Certification Process

LiveOps’ client companies require you to complete the LiveOps Call Center certification courses and their program-related certification before your business can start answering calls. This is a combination of self-paced eLearning courses and live virtual classroom learning sessions conducted via conference call. Certification takes approximately four weeks.

The certification class will begin at the end of May or early June.
